Dwyane Wade Comments About Leaving Miami Heat

Last night was tough for the Miami Heat, their fans and their biggest player in the franchise history, Dwyane Wade. After failed negotiations with the Heat, Wade decided to go back to his hometown, Chicago and play for the Bulls. Today, Wade comments about his decision to leave Miami on Live with Kelly.

Wade said how the last night was long for him, he said that it's surreal and he's still numb. He said how the decision wasn't easy to make, that he wasn't getting any sleep lately because of the free agency and that he probably lost five to ten pounds because of sweating. The shooting guard also thanked all the fans for the support they've had for him throughout the years.

What hurts the Miami Heat fans most is the seemingly careless attitude by the team's GM Pat Riley. It seemed that Riley didn't try hard to keep Wade in Miami and it turned out to be true, as Riley never called Wade during the entire free agency process. There is no doubt that he should have done it as the two sides could have come to an agreement if that happened. However, such an approach and attitude costed Riley a lot, as he lost one of the most loyal players to ever play the game.

Dwyane Wade will continue his amazing career in Chicago as the Miami Heat failed to keep him in South Beach. It will not be easy to watch him wear another jersey or help another team win games, but it is how it is. Life goes on and so does Wade's career in another city. He has given a lot to Miami and all we can do is to appreciate his greatness and thank him for 13 incredible years!
