Dwyane Wade Could Leave the Miami Heat

It's July 1, the official date when the NBA free agency starts, and there are already numerous rumors related to the biggest free agents this summer. One of those rumors includes the Miami Heat franchise star, Dwyane Wade. According to it, the shooting guard has not been able to come to terms for a new deal with the Heat, and is interested in other teams.

We had the same story last season, and the story ended with Wade signing a 1-year contract with the Heat, worth $20 million. This season, the Heat will have numerous free agents they need to take care of, most notably Wade, the big man Hassan Whiteside and two forwards, Luol Deng and Joe Johnson. They will also have a meeting with the former MVP Kevin Durant, who will be the top free agent this period. If they want to sign him, they have to make sure they have a strong supporting cast.

According to the rumor, Wade is interested to the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Mavericks. It's interesting that Wade has faced both teams in the finals, two times each. His first championship was won in 2006, when he defeated the Mavericks. Just five years later, they faced off again on the biggest stage, and it was the Mavs who were victorious this time. He played against the Spurs in 2013 and 2014, winning in the first year and losing in the second.

It is highly unlikely that Wade will sign with any team other than the Heat, but he may be asking for a bigger contract than they are offering him. Wade recently commented how he has a few more good years left, so it is possible that he is looking for a multi-year deal with a bigger payout. The free agency has started, and we will see what deal the Heat and Wade agree on, or if by some miracle the other team signs him.
