Memphis Grizzlies fired their head coach David Joerger a week ago and they are looking for another coach to fill the spot. Despite many available head coaches on the market, the Grizzlies chose to interview the Miami Heat assistant coach David Fizdale, who could coach the team in the next season.
Fizdale has been an assistant coach for the Heat since 2008 and he was a big part of the team's success. The head coach Erik Spoelstra had nothing but the words of praise for him, saying how Fizdale is a tremendous basketball mind. Miami Heat allowed the coach to be interviewed by the Grizzlies and he may leave his position on the Heat very soon.
The Heat also announced that Dan Craig will return as an assistant coach for the next season, so Fizdale's spot will be filled immediately. Craig led the Heat's D-League affiliate team, Sioux Falls Skyforce, to a historic season and a championship. He's been part of the Miami Heat for over 13 years and the Heat will look to continue working with him for an extended period.
