Hassan Whiteside Ninth in Most Improved Player Voting

After finishing third in the voting for Defensive Player of the Year, Hassan Whiteside failed to win another award, Most Improved Player. Whiteside finished only ninth in voting, while the award was won by the Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum.

While it's true that McCollum had an incredible season and deserves the award, it is strange to see Whiteside finish so low. McCollum separated himself from the rest with 559 total points, which included 101 first-place votes. Kemba Walker finished second with 166 total points and 7 votes for the first place while Whiteside had 26 total points and only one first-place vote.

Whiteside wasn't named defensive player of the year nor was he the most improved, however, we are still waiting for results of all-NBA teams selections. Considering that Whiteside had a great season, he will most likely make one of those teams, we just need to see which one. He will probably have a spot on the all-defensive team as well.
